The Nutrition

We have partnered with local nutritionists to ensure our meals are not only flavourful, but nutritious. Our macronutrient focus is on the right amounts of these essential components: Protein, Carbs, Fat, Iron, Calcium, Fibre, and Sodium.
Not all bodies are created equal and we recognize that some of you may have specific goals or dietary restrictions. Our Nutritionists are here to help if you need them - Book a personal consultation today.

The Nutritionists

Shawna Barker BSc.,

Founder, Nutritionist, Educator

She graduated with honours from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors of Science degree in Food, Nutrition and Health, as well as the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition with a Diploma in Holistic Nutrition. Shawna offers private nutrition consulting, custom meal plans, as well as a digital vegan pregnancy and baby guides. She also manages Plant Life Nutrition in Vancouver, BC, which is a vegan nutrition store; and co-hosts the Vegan Boss Radio podcast with her sister.

As a long time vegan myself, and a nutrition coach for people following a vegan, vegetarian, or plant based diet, I am always encouraging diet diversity and balanced meals. I believe that the foundation for long term success, adherence, enjoyment, and health on a plant based diet is ensuring that meals are balanced in terms of flavours, types of foods included, and ratios of macronutrients. This is why I am so excited about the meals Manna Foods has created. Clients of their meal prep delivery service can rest assured knowing that each meal is both delicious and nutritionally balanced. These meals are not just for vegan and plant based people either, everyone, regardless of their diet, will benefit from having more plant based whole foods in their lives.
